Mario Kart..Wii~!

The one game that was easily predicted by the main audience, (Nintendo fans), to be coming to the Wii eventually has finally been shown to the public just recently at one of the biggest events in the gaming industry, E3.

Nintendo stated that during the first few months of release a specially made steering wheel will be packed in with the game. Generally, the same idea that Excite Truck creators had for their racing game. The only difference is that Nintendo has put much more effort into the design to upgrade the gameplay to the next level , or so it should.

New steering wheel! :3This is the only picture I could find featuring the new steering wheel for MKW (Mario Kart Wii).

It’s due to come out November 26th or so Fils- Aime stated. It’ll bring along a fresh look on Mario Kart and it’ll also be the first Mario Kart single-driver game to hit the next gen and last gen console.

Now, a look at the controller that I am talking so much about. It’ll feature a button in the back (to the left) that, I expect, when pushed will push the B button which’ll be used for drifting. The WiiMote will just pop into the inner frame like the other steering wheel made earlier in the Wii’s infancy. It’ll have a more realistic steering wheel look to and , I expect, it’ll also feel like the real deal. the whole control setup is still unknown as of now but will , most likely, be revealed in the near future.

And that seems to wrap up this preview that I ever so much wanted to present to the public if you weren’t able to check out E3 via G4 or elsewhere. ^-^ Thanks for reading.

Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings

The second Final Fantasy game , so far, to be released on the DS. It was released on April 26th in Japan. The US release date is yet to be decided by Square Enix.

Taking place only 2 years after the events in FFXII on the PS2. Vaan is now a full-fledged sky pirate. It sports most of the familiar players from the previous game, possibly some new characters. Now that it is after the war over Rabanastre, and all is peaceful, Vanna and Penelo find themselves sporting uneventful lives. Then one night an airship lands and they decide to commandeer it. Then they fly off to a new continent (?) called Lemures , now with a whole series of events going on, there will be judges, and a whole load of sky pirates. Positively.

I’m really curious to see which comes out first. Dragon Question IX or Final Fantasy XII: RW. I know that I’m going to be getting both for their unique reviews. ;P The question is, which’ll be better? It seems , from screenshots, that Dragon Quest IX’s graphics seem much better. Although, FFIII had the equal graphics yet FFXII:RW doesn’t seem to have similar graphics.

Pokemon D&P: Now out to the public.

Yes, I’m sure many of us got up early this morning to go grab our pre-ordered copy so we could vigorously run our DS’s battery into the ground. Boy, do I sound enthusiastic. Mainly because I have to wait until tomorrow to go grab my copy. Thats why I can only put up a preview. Otherwise I would have a review up probably right now. Oh yeah and to whom it may have concerned, they did have a celebration in New York today over it’s release. Too bad I/you most likely missed it since most people wouldn’t just go to New York to celebrate and pay all that money, but then again….Nevermind.

Anyway, I’ll probably have my review up in a couple of days, I have to take some notes on it first and get it all together and organized before I can put it up on here. (What do you expect for me to recklessly just start writing about every single thought on it right now?). Until then I’m sure you’ll either be occupied with 1 of 2 things, 1) You are quite engrossed in your copy of D or P, possibly both. or 2) you don’t have it but your too engrossed with how your gonna pull together the money to get it before all sanities lost. Maybe you don’t even care/know about Pokemon and are doing better things than sitting silently in your room playing/crying/talking to yourself frantically over crazy scams for money. I kid you not though, everyone considering it but don’t know how good it is shall know it, in 2 days, thats mainly just to have me not procrastinate with it and get into a full-fledged Pokemon frenzy like never before.w00t.

I’ll write up a summary for people curious about this game and don’t know zip about it. This is the 3rd installment in the series, of traditonally, two games at release then a third game added later on. (You can find my post on “the cousin” if you take a good look around, it’s not that far back there). This is only predicted information though, usually though past repeats itself, as it has been seen to happen before. Anyway this game will have Wi-Fi connection allowing you to battle people all over the world as well as trade. There’ll even be a globe where you can see what place each of the people you traded with came from. It’ll definitely be fancy. Then when it comes to battle settings you’ll actually ,instead of button pressing battles, be using your thumb or if you’d like your stylus to choose battle options. And the animated scenes will be more lively and actually make you want to fight wild pokemon more than in past games.Altogether the impression it’s giving off his making it seem like a good game, so it’s probably worth getting but I can’t gaurantee that so to be safe, if your unsure, wait until I get the review up. I beg it. Until then you can read this over and over again.

((sorry about switching to bold and all, it kind of messed up on me for awhile so my deepest apologies.))

Maplestory DS, Hit or miss?

Maplestory, the hit of the 2D sidescrolling, MMORPG, anime world. Nexon stated awhile back at E3 that they’ll be developing and releasing a Maplestory game on the DS. The stun by a million or not so much, was greatly excited for atleast a couple of weeks on the matter but died down.

Since, as Nexon has boasted, they’ll be releasing in ’07 with plenty of time to re-create it that means that anyone who doesn’t want to go throught he trouble of making an Asiasoft passport ID will no longer need to, thats probably a score on the younger players part.Although, I have a question for Nexon. It may have been asked before or maybe not but will they just simply recreate Maplestory onto the DS, simply just place it all from a free computer game into DS catridges or will they take the patient time needed to add a whole new division to the game? That may just be a simple, stupid question but I would like my simple, yet stupid answered. I feel that my question shall be answered when I actually get to play it and decide for my own.

Another thing thats an excite with me in particular is whether there’ll be Wi-Fi connection or not..? I’m sure that you could easily state “yes, of course” but if Nexon is lazy and decides that you don’t need the community in the DS world will the world revolt? Verbally or perhaps physically? Or will it go on as though nothing happened other than a little bug bite that quickly heals up and is soon forgotten? The pros of having Wi-Fi would be easily, hands down, player interaction and maybe a sort of trade system or PK (Player Killer) system. Maybe a con could be putting Nexon through the trouble of developing that extra feature that could easily go either way if you don’t balance it right. As in basic science, “An unbalanced force will make an object fall.”, if you don’t balance a game right it’ll flop over dead from the attack of angry and dissapointed fans that have big scary pitchforks.

I’m not one to stand on the other side of the line against Maplestory but Maplestory on the DS could easily become a thought of, “pointlessness” to some gamers who feel Maplestory on the inernet is easily better than just placing it onto a handheld with maybe some new features. I partly stand on this side of the line. Others on the enemy line may not even own a handheld and won’t bother buying one for this game when the common sense thought would just be to stay witht he PC version where your nice and comfy.

My main concerns here are, 1. Wi-Fi? Will it be there and will be it be done well? and 2. Will common sense rule out over re-buying the game if your a veteran of the game just for a few extras and 3. Will it even be a hit with new players?

This has been a thought writing on Maplestory DS.
