Air Gear

Okay, sorry for the long absence as I explained in another post, I’ll get myself back on the ball with this anime review of Air Gear!

This anime pretty much blew away all common sense in me when I saw the first episode, the music, the story, the art Everything! (note: This review will not be biased as hard as it may be…)

Well lets start with my favorite part of “The List”! The music, yes the music what brings the anime to life when you watch it, if you don’t have good music, you won’t get many viewers. Anyway back to music, the music was very pleasing with it’s nice very background oriented techno beats that should deserve a good, pleasing (hopefully), 5 out of 5 rating, as lame as a number rating is….

Okay now lets go on to my view on the story, Air Gear is based on…oh maybe a few years maybe a few decades ahead of the current time, the anime starts out with a highschooler named Ikki who, in the beginning, was the leader of The East Side Gunz gang, he eventually fell in love with ATs (translated to Air Treks) after making a mess at dinner and forcing the females of the house to go bathe, Ikki takes his chance and entered an “off-limits” room discovering a whole library of AT’s, equipment, stickers (for Sleeping Forest the house owners’ team). He picks out a,stylish mind you, black and yellow pair of ATs to go test drive out on the road. Ikki eventually gets himself into “The Meeting” where he leaves off with a bunch of angry police men and another team called Skull Saders after him. In my opinion I loved this anime because it put a large emphasis on growing from a newbie to AT’s into a seasoned veteran (well I guess you could say veteran..) who is also named the king of the Sky Road.  Anyway on story I was immediatly pulled in and addicted.

The art, wasn’t anything exactly special and it seemed that once you get into the “teen” episodes the form of the AT’s up close seem to be lame and lazily drawn. But on the plus side of the art, it really emphasized the comedy parts of the anime. Anyway the art doesn’t have much about it to talk about or obsess over. It kind of got an evenly matched rating on each side of negative and positive.

Okay well I hope you all enjoyed that after my long absence and remember I’d really appreciate comments on my writing! Until next time ^-^

Bleach

Okay heres that anime review I promised for today, enjoy.

This anime is a particularly well sweetened, non-americanized mind you, anime that deserves the best of the best. The opening song starts turning your attention towards it and nothing else, then the art style comes next blowing you (well atleast me) out of my current seat and unto the couch ready to focus everything on it. Next up is story, it’s about an orange haired high school boy named Kurosaki Ichigo who is just any normal highschool boy until a lady, at the beginning clad as “samurai wanna-be thief”, appears in his room and gets a literal foot-full of his…well…foot. Anyway from there he ends up “borrowing” Rukia’s (thats her name) soul reaper powers and now has to do all the dirty work while all she does is put on a snazzy glove and smash him in the forehead. It goes on pretty similar to that for awhile, but to figure out what happens later you’ll have to watch it. ;D

Now on to the voice acting division of this beast, otherwise known as the audio division. The voices were well matched to the characters, for example, Ichigo’s voice isn’t some smarty-pants genius’ no his voice is tough and strong like him. The only thing that grudged me about there audio division monster was something very small called “nothing” (^-^).

In conclusion, I highly reccomend this anime as one that is worth staying up until after Trinity Blood on Cartoon Network (by the way it comes on, on saturday.) I hope you enjoy it and until the next review I do heres the sheet I came up with.

story-10/10

art-8/10

audio-10/10 GREAT (well in my opinion)

music-10/10

Prince of Tennis

I know this is probably one of those well known animes that you can easily switch on your TV to and watch but I thought that since it’s on Toonami and just got out of Jetstream that it’d be a good one to start out with.

Okay well personally when I watched the first episode I wasn’t wowed by the opening music or artwork neither was I really clenched on the story, but I particularly did like the voice actors, they chose well in that category I can give ‘em that. Even though I already said that I didn’t like the story, I really kind of meant only some parts of the story, I did like how it was about a sport and they could do that without making it boring like some sports animes I’ve seen. Another thing I’d like to acknowledge is the characters and how unique each one is with voices, hair, eyes, walking, etc.

Okay so to sum up this small review, the voice acting was a plus definitely, the story partly makes it into the loop but can’t exactly make the full cut in that division, the music doesn’t seem to wow me whatsoever and reminds me of almost all the other americanized animes on Cartoon Network and such , the art doesn’t really stand out above other animes it’s got that same kind of style accept maybe that everyone’s hair is shining brightly all the time.
