Dragon Quest IX

As I skimmed through a magazine, I came across a particular preview article over this game for the Nintendo DS. Since I’m a slight fan of Level 5 games it really appealed to me also since I’m an RPG fan and a screenshot indicated total customization of avatars I was already wanting it bad. This games name is Dragon Quest IX! With decent Nintendo DS graphics I think this game is going to really appeal to the Japanese Market AND the American Market. My reasons are simply that I,myself, and many others I know are aspiring RPG fans especially on handhelds :3. Especially at this rate of customization it’s a total plus with me. It will have a load of monsters from other Dragon Quest games and if I am correct it’ll be featuring a few new monsters also. It’ll also be nice not having that paranoia I usually have with handheld/Console RPG’s where grass=*Scream* in this one all I have to do is play tag with the monsters! Or otherwise I just have to run into a monster to fight or vice versa. Anyway this game is highly anticipated by me and I can’t wait to get my geeky hands on it.

I hope this game is a good one!

Console preview: Nintendo Wii

Ahh, our little white friend who looks alot like some types of DVD players. Also known for it’s very original controller and gameplay ideas (Wiimote….so damn clever…). Nintendo has told us all that “It’ll have a variety of games for a variety of people.”, meaning that supposedly, in theory, you’ll see old grannies in old people homes swinging their Wiimotes around smacking tennis balls and swinging golf bats. That also means that it’s for our Hardcore Gamers who are looking for some Sword slashing, monster killing, games currently Zelda style ;D.

The Wii, is explicitly fun as I have come to discover from playing it. The only problem I currently have is that all I’ve got to play is a rented Rayman Raving Rabbids, and Wii Sports (I’m playing Zelda: TP on the Gamecube then I might play Wii version), nothing good is coming out until later this year which means for all us gamers, “Oh Joy! We get to play every Wii game we own atleast 20 more times until anything new comes out!”, or atleast so I imagine it. Anyway the Wii will be a major hit, in my eyes, once all the other great well anticipated titles release.

Now the controller I believe deserves some attention, seeing as no ones ever tried this before. Yes the “remote” has already been released for our TV’s (which I have quit, I only watch movies now), and no the “Wiimote” hasn’t been released upon the world until just a few months ago. The controller fits smugly into any players hands, well human hands, and gives you a great urge to click the “A” button over and over again because of it’s shiny-ness. The controller totally makes me want to play for hours, (which I have done countless days), and yet still not be very tired until the next morning while I’m sitting at my desk rubbing my eyes vigorously because I’m still seeing crazy lawn gnomes yelling “Hey…hey hey hey hey…hey!”. In my eyes the controller is great!

Now I feel like making a remark on the surprisingly well done graphics. When I first saw someone playing LoZ:TP (Wii version) I was totally stunned at how the graphics were totally different than the GC version’s and actually made feel all fresh and crisp at the game. Well since I’m only skimming the graphics I feel as though I need to wrap this up and get back to my downloaded anime….

Anyway I hope you all enjoyed!

Experimenting

I’ve decided to start experimenting with game/console reviewing, previewing, and featuring. I hope that it all comes out good, I also may start experimenting with new writing styles, so if some of my future works seem to be different thats the reason. And like always I’d like to have people comment on my work. Anyway the next anime review I do is going to be a preview I believe….and then a review of that anime later. The preview will be over a Mech anime called Soukou No Strain. (That means you will probably have to download that ;D) Later after I get done with SNS I’m going to start on Zegapain (because currently I’m all into the Mech animes ^-^). So don’t worry your waiting will soon be over.

(PS: While I’m still writing this post, this next coming weekend I don’t believe I’ll be able to post much since I’ll be very very busy.)

Air Gear

Okay, sorry for the long absence as I explained in another post, I’ll get myself back on the ball with this anime review of Air Gear!

This anime pretty much blew away all common sense in me when I saw the first episode, the music, the story, the art Everything! (note: This review will not be biased as hard as it may be…)

Well lets start with my favorite part of “The List”! The music, yes the music what brings the anime to life when you watch it, if you don’t have good music, you won’t get many viewers. Anyway back to music, the music was very pleasing with it’s nice very background oriented techno beats that should deserve a good, pleasing (hopefully), 5 out of 5 rating, as lame as a number rating is….

Okay now lets go on to my view on the story, Air Gear is based on…oh maybe a few years maybe a few decades ahead of the current time, the anime starts out with a highschooler named Ikki who, in the beginning, was the leader of The East Side Gunz gang, he eventually fell in love with ATs (translated to Air Treks) after making a mess at dinner and forcing the females of the house to go bathe, Ikki takes his chance and entered an “off-limits” room discovering a whole library of AT’s, equipment, stickers (for Sleeping Forest the house owners’ team). He picks out a,stylish mind you, black and yellow pair of ATs to go test drive out on the road. Ikki eventually gets himself into “The Meeting” where he leaves off with a bunch of angry police men and another team called Skull Saders after him. In my opinion I loved this anime because it put a large emphasis on growing from a newbie to AT’s into a seasoned veteran (well I guess you could say veteran..) who is also named the king of the Sky Road.  Anyway on story I was immediatly pulled in and addicted.

The art, wasn’t anything exactly special and it seemed that once you get into the “teen” episodes the form of the AT’s up close seem to be lame and lazily drawn. But on the plus side of the art, it really emphasized the comedy parts of the anime. Anyway the art doesn’t have much about it to talk about or obsess over. It kind of got an evenly matched rating on each side of negative and positive.

Okay well I hope you all enjoyed that after my long absence and remember I’d really appreciate comments on my writing! Until next time ^-^
